Sentō are public bathhouses, which are a part of traditional Japanese culture.
After learning about the history and culture of sentō, we will go to Tokyo’s unique
“Snowman Fair”. Enjoy getting surrounded by all the snow!
Then, to heat up our frigid bodies, we will soak in an actual, good old traditional Japanese sentō! We will learn through kamishibai about bathhouse etiquette before entering the bath.
Kamishibai is a form of storytelling including pictures on cards that has survived
Japanese tradition since olden times.
※At the end of the tour, you will be able to experience bathing in a public bath house.
※Towels are available for purchase at the bath house.
※You are not permitted to bring towels into the bathtub.
※The tour guide and interpreter will not be bathing with you.
